Sarah Elizabeth Atkins of Mason County married Isaac Nees at Havana, Mason County, Illinois on November 19, 1863.  They were the parents of eleven children.  The family moved to Jewell County, Kansas.

She was the daughter of Samuel and Rachel Atkins.
